Railway Recruitment Posts 2017
The Railway Recruitment Posts are divided into Gazetted (Group A and B) and Non-Gazetted (Group C and Group D) under 19 RRB zones.
Group ‘A’ Posts: Group A Post recruitment in the RRB is carried out by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) appointed through different civil service examinations, Engineering Service examination, and Combined Medical Service Examination.
Group ‘B’ Posts: Group B post recruitment are not open to directly. The Group ‘B’ posts are linked to Section Officers Grade – upgraded posts from Group ‘C’ railway employees on deputation basis.
Group ‘C’ Posts: The recruitment for Technical and Non – Technical cadre posts like Clerk, Station Master, Ticket Collector, Commercial Apprentice, Traffic Apprentice, Engineering Posts (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Signal & Telecommunication) etc comes under Group ‘C’ posts.
Group ‘D’ Posts: Group D posts recruitment includes Trackman, Helper, Assistant, Points Man, Safaiwala/ Safaiwali, Gunman, Peon etc.
RRB Recruitment against Quota: These includes Sports Quota, Scouts & Guides Quota and also Cultural Quota.
Each and Every RRB posts under different grades holds different eligibility criteria. All the candidates willing to apply for various post must read the following eligibility criteria.
- Educational Qualification
- Group A & B Post: To apply for the Group A and B post candidate must be Graduate/ Post Graduate from any recognized university.
- Group C & B Post: To apply for the Group C and D post candidate must have passed 10th Class or equivalent trade.
- Group A & B Post: There will be a written examination for Group A and B post. Also for specific categories, there will be oral examination after the written test
- Group C & D Post: For Group C and D Post, there will be a Skill test ( Typing Test 0r Stenography Test) and for other categories related to operational safety like Assistant Safety Master, Assistant Loco Pilot there will be an Aptitude Test.
